Not much commotion, super laid back, only marginally hungover, and got to spend time with loved ones!! :)
I had a horrible start to the trip. We got a foot of snow dumped on us (our first official snow day) the day I left. This caused delays in Kelowna and caused me to miss my flight in Edmonton. I ended up having to fly from Edmonton waaaaay later to Calgary, then fly from there to arrive at LAX at 10pm. They almost transferred me from Calgary to Denver, then from Denver to LAX.
I swear...
Longest travel ever. Started at 4am and ended at 11:30pm. Just shy of 20hrs of ongoing travel time. Just to put it in perspective, It should've been a 2.5hour flight.
Despite that long travel time and horrible first day, let me tell you, the rest of the trip was aaaaawesome.
First was thanksgiving and kuya's proposal. I love being clairsentient sometimes, because despite the fact that I'm not psychic and don't know what the hell you're thinking, since I can feel people, I pretty much can logically figure out what's going on. It comes in handy when I'm in a room full of Mexican people who only speak Spanish. I may not fully understand everything, but I cheat and feel the intention or inquiry or whatever, and usually know exactly what they need or are asking/saying.
Anyway, kuyas proposal was awesome and there were so much tears! So much tears everywhere. Our family is growing and I couldn't be happier. I love them! I have a niece, officially. I am an auntie!! I love her. Sometimes she kind of reminds me of how I was at her age - even kuya says so. Most of her friends are boys also and she's very sweet. I had to give her the talk about aggro and being aware about it. Lol <3
M: "at some point Dani, all of those friends will have either checked you out, wanna get in your pants, or fall for you. You don't have to anticipate it happening - it just does. We have this unfortunate side effect of being everything that they want because we're the girl version of them. Don't be scared or insecure, just be aware so you don't hurt their feelings or spare yourself from being mislead."
D:"Omg they totally don't like me like that..."
Says the beautiful girl that likes sports, video games, super talented, and is smart and sweet. Yeah ok.
M: "Do you trust me? Would I lie to you?"
D: "No, but I've been friends with them forever. I know them."
M: "I'm not asking you to change. I'm just saying - be aware of this because it will happen."
D: "I just can't believe that they would ever..."
M: "I know - most of them probably won't even have the balls to ask you out. But just trust me - it took me way too long to figure it out. Like your best friend Peter? He's totally fallen for you.
D: "omg what????? No way! He's been my best friend since we were 6 and 10."
M: "no guy randomly bakes cupcakes for a girl and will hear you complain about the fuzziness of your hair for hours for fun. Best friend or not, his heart does a weird thing when he sees you."
D: "omg."
The conversation continues but I'm not gonna continue right now on my phone lol! Let's just say - she's learning quickly! ;) she's gotta because being awesome brings aggro and she's gotta learn from the best. <3 hahahaha
On the next day, I had hakata ramen at marukai with justin, Osaka, Riki,& Alan. Hung out and played silly games. I seriously haven't laughed that hard - that long, forever. So good. So, so, good.
Then on Saturday we hung out more with brian & other no moo friends. I love Ray btw! He is so hillarious. Tim was a tank? Dear lord when did I miss that? I always thought he was arms, dps not tank. It doesn't really matter now but it's cool to know we had more than a few other gnome tanks in no moo. They're so rare, I can't help but notice!! ;)
On Sunday, I got to spend some quality time with Justin, Jon, and Andy. Sometimes just walking around a mall and hanging out is the best medicine for the heart. My heart literally felt so warm and happy that day, I honestly thought it would burst at times, lol. It's all the little things. :)
That evening I spent one on one time with Kuya and we hung out and watched this 80's movie (that we really liked) called "stand by me". It's not the first time we've watched it, lol. It's got wil Wheaton (Wesley crusher) in it (when he was a kid), river Phoenix, jerry o'Connell. I just spent the evening and morning laughing about old 80's references and reminiscing with him. He took a half day off so we could get breakfast before driving me to LAX.
I'm heartbroken to leave and I also miss my family. I miss my babiessss!!! I can't wait to snuggle them!!!
Im also tired and my back hurts! Lol I can't wait to take a robaxacet and relax. So tired. I miss Chris and I can't wait for some hugs, tea, and calm. <3
I love you all so very much. Thank you for giving me an awesome vacation. The hardest thing is saying goodbye, so I won't. I'll leave it as a "hope to see you all again soon and I send all my love."
